SteadyRide Driver Requirements
Driving with SteadyRide
As an indigenous company from the state of Florida, we see our potential drivers to be part of us, believe in
them to exemplify our values, mission and display extraordinary level of standards as they comfortably
transport our clients from point A to point B.
Steadyride will strive to provide exceptional services to the hardworking people of our areas of operation
through our potential hardworking drivers. We will stress riders’ engagement to our potential drivers, which
is part of our core values, as well as emphasize to them to be very conversant with all the applicable
components of our process.
To ensure potential drivers meet the requisite requirements to drive for Steadyride, they must meet the
following obligations and Steadyride will reward excellence.
Steadyride Driver Requirements
Zero Tolerance: Steadyride will implement a zero-tolerance policy with respect to drugs or alcohol when it comes to our drivers upon logging on to access our digital network or when providing a prearranged ride. Steadyride will follow the letter of the law on zero tolerance relative to reporting the complaint on our website, suspension of the driver upon investigation and outright termination if found guilty.
Application Process: Steadyride will only hire partners (drivers) that have gone through the rigors of our application process to include their age, address, driver license, motor vehicle registration, local and national criminal background checks including multi-state/multi-jurisdictional criminal records locator to help with the validation of any record found. They will equally be subjected to national sex offender’s registry clarification in the public website maintained by the department of justice. The application will make it clear to would be drivers that background check will be done every three years for the duration they will be driving for Steadyride. Additional prohibitions for not driving for Steadyride will include an applicants’ background check revealing more than three moving violations in the prior three years, that the potential driver has been convicted within the past five years of felony, misdemeanor for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, reckless driving, hit and run, for fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer. It will prohibit potential drivers with misdemeanor for a violent offense or sexual battery, or a crime of lewdness or indecent exposure.
Age: All applicants must be 21 years of age or older with minimum of three (3) years driving experience and if birthday is next week, we advise they wait until after the birthday to avoid their application from being rejected. This age limit gives college students and fresh graduates the opportunity to make some money for themselves for a comfortable living.
License: To drive for Steadyride, you must have an in-state valid drivers’ license for at least a year prior to driving for Steadyride. No exceptions allowed and if your license is coming up for renewal, we strongly advise that you get it right before applying to drive for Steadyride. If records show that a potential Steadyride driver have been convicted within the past three years of driving with a suspended or revoked license, does not possess a valid driver license or does not possess proof of registration for the motor vehicle to be used for the prearranged rides, they will not be able to drive for Steadyride.
Insurance: It is a requirement that the drivers’ name must be on the insurance policy and denoted by the state where you will be driving consistent with the insurance policy/regulations of that state.
Clean Driving Record: Drivers must have clean driving record free of major accident, misdemeanor, and or injury on record. One or two speeding tickets can be accommodated.
Phone: All potential drivers for Steadyride must have a smartphone. We recommend iPhone 4 or newer and Android phone running at 4.0+.
Mentor/Onboarding Session: All prospective Steadyride drivers must undergo these sessions or training with our experienced drivers or contracted third party before been allowed to drive because of its pertinence. This session will take care of the followings prohibited conducts:
-Non-acceptance of a ride for compensation other than a ride arranged through our digital network
-Non-solicitation or acceptance of street hails.
-Non-alteration of presented information from our digital network to enforcement official to interfere with potential oversight by the official.
-A total and unambiguous adherence of all applicable nondiscrimination policy relative to riders, service animals, persons with physical disabilities etc.
-Checking of all vehicles, registration and insurance to ensure it meets the standard of Steadyride
This will be out-sourced to a prospective 3rd party Embarksafety (to monitor and alert supervisors on a regular basis of new suspensions/revocations, moving violations, and any activity that will affect the legal driving status of a driver or employee as well as license, CDL, and medical certificate expirations. They equally provide direct access to driving records in all 50 states. The system is linked to each state licensing agencies or DMVs to obtain the most up-to-date driver license information) that will meet the criteria established by the state TNC regulation and other regulatory bodies.
SteadyRide Vehicle Requirements
Steadyride drivers will need to have vehicles that meets our requirements. These requirements mostly are easy to meet if your vehicle is in good working condition and relatively new.
These requirements include but not limited to:
-Your Steadyride vehicle must have 4 doors with valid plate number and a valid insurance policy that must have your name.
-Your Steadyride vehicle must be in good condition with no mechanical problems (like broken brake lights or a horn that is ineffective) or superficial problems (like minor body damage).
-Your Steadyride regular tier vehicle must have 5 or more functioning seatbelts.
-Your Steadyride vehicle must not be more than 10 years old and it must be fully air conditioned with functioning airbags and an active in-state registration. All cars with out of state registration must meet all the requirements of the state in which they are operating. However, it is important to note that out of state cars have different date requirements and secondly, that Steadyride allow the use of commercial plates by drivers only to drive for Steadyride and not for other competitors.
-For your Steadyride premium or luxury tier vehicles, the requirements are basically the same except that the vehicle must have 7 or more seatbelts and we expect the driver to pick up to 6 passengers plus themselves.
-Your Steadyride vehicles are expected to undergo maintenance on a regular basis to include inspection as specified by the regulatory body designated by their area of operation. Upon completion, proof of maintenance and inspection must be forwarded to the compliance unit in the Risk Management Department for clearance and filing. Drivers will be compensated monetarily for compliance and safety and violators will be suspended from driving for Steadyride until they become compliant and safety conscious in relation to their riders and other stakeholders.

SteadyRide Motor Vehicle Operations Policy
Driver’s License Requirements:
1. Prospective drivers whose job duties include the use of their vehicles to transport prospective riders from point A to point B on behalf of SteadyRide must be in possession of a valid and current Florida driver’s license to include the appropriate class of commercial license for the vehicle being operated. Under no circumstances shall a prospective driver, whose license has been cancelled, revoked, suspended, or expired, operate a vehicle around or about a roadway on behalf of SteadyRide.
2. Upon signing up to drive for SteadyRide, each driver whose duties include the operation of a motor vehicle on behalf of SteadyRide must produce a valid and current Florida driver’s license.
3. Any driver operating a motor vehicle on behalf of SteadyRide for the movement of riders from point A to point B must immediately notify the SteadyRide department handling MVRs within 24 hours of any change in the status of his/her driver’s license or the receipt of any citation for a moving violation in the operation of a motor vehicle whether the citation is on or off the job. Failure to immediately report a driver’s license revocation, suspension, cancellation, or citation, as required by this paragraph, shall result in disciplinary action in adherence with SteadyRide Rules and Regulations as well as TNC established laws.
4. An employee who fails to report a change in the status of his/her driver’s license or the receipt of any citation for a moving violation shall be subject to one or more of the following:
-letter of reprimand, or
-suspension from driving for SteadyRide
-revocation of driving privileges on behalf of SteadyRide or
termination from driving for SteadyRide.
Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Requirements:
1. Any driver wishing to drive for SteadyRide must have his/her current MVR reviewed, prior to been accepted as an independent contractor to drive on behalf of SteadyRide by the hiring department. If the MVR indicate a greater than eight points in a 24-month period listed for traffic violations or a conviction or pending charge for driving under the influence during that period, that applicant will be disqualified from consideration for the position of an independent contractor.
2. Any current driver whose job description is to move passengers from point A to point B on behalf of SteadyRide will have his/her MVR reviewed at a minimum of every quarter. If a current driver has, at any time, an MVR that is found to be greater than eight (8) points according to the points scale, that driver will be suspended and required to attend a defensive driving course at his/her own expense as recommended by the point scale system and the Risk Management department will determine his/her suitability for rehire to drive on behalf of SteadyRide.
3. Any driver who is identified as having an MVR greater than eight (8) points will be given two weeks from the date of notification to present a certificate from a school of defensive driving to the appropriate department head, or the driver’s driving privileges will be suspended indefinitely except if there is credible excuse for non-compliance.
4. Any current driver arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be immediately prohibited from driving on behalf of SteadyRide. If the driver is ultimately found not guilty of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving privileges will be returned immediately but if the driver is found guilty, driving privileges will be taken away indefinitely in line with Steadyride’s policies.
Responsibilities of SteadyRide:
1. Risk Management Department shall be responsible for:
-Ensuring that all drivers are aware of the driver’s license requirement and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) requirement of SteadyRide’s policies.
-Ensuring that the proper procedures are followed for certifying employees to operate vehicles on behalf of SteadyRide.
